Abstract:

The use of approved antifungals is constrained by limitations in bioavailability, drug interactions and toxicity. Furthermore, emerging resistances limit their use. Advantageously, several novel drugs are under investigation in clinical trials for prophylaxis and treatment. These new players will change the management of aspergillosis and mucormycosis in the near future.
