Researcher (2006-14), Associate Professor (2014-20) and since December 2020, Full professor of Microbiology, Department of Biology, University of Pisa. Currently President of BSc Degree in Biotechnology and Coordinator of the Biology PhD program. Published 76 papers (H-index: 30) focused on genetic manipulation of fungi, development of CRISPR/Cas-based biosensors, molecular typing of pathogenic fungi and innovative antibiofilm strategies. Member of the Editorial Board of Journal of Fungi, Journal of Medical Mycology, Frontiers in Cellular and Infection Microbiology.
